Super Powers

If I could choose any super power I would half to side with telepathy. Emma Frost is a super hero who is a powerful and experienced telepath. Her telepathic powers allow her to perform several features such as, mind to mind communication, mind reading, mind control, paralysis, possession, hypnosis, inducing pain and creating powerful blasts capable of killing a person. There are two things I would change about Emma Frost. One, Emma’s super power that gives you the capability to you to kill a victim would be modified as knocking an enemy out. In the bible it is a commandment “thou shall not murder”. Second, the dress attire would be modest and clean (Emma’s character is far from modesty). Instead of white as the primary color, I would make the clothes red and black like a lady bug. If you think about, it having telepathic super powers puts a person close next to the God Almighty! I opt for telepathic powers so I could help protect our country and reveal the truth about Jesus Christ. The Lord has blessed me with a prophetic gifting and I think because of my gifting, I am attracted to telepathy super power.

I would dedicate my telepathic powers to help the CIA with its fight against terrorism. If the CIA had extrasensory capabilities our intelligence would be supreme and unstoppable to any other country. I would specialize in undercover operations and I would use mind reading and hypnosis as my tactics to overturn the enemy. My undercover name would be Kahina after a Berber Princess from the 6th century. In classical Arabic, Kahina means female seer. Kahina could help the government catch and cease its enemies before they implement harm to the country.

Ultimately, I would not only help the government, but I would use my super powers to help save God’s lost children of the Muslim culture. Satan is called the father of lies (John 8:44). I would combat the lies of Satan with using mind communication to correspond the truth of Jesus Christ. Kahina is from a Berber Tribe in North Africa; taking her name would give me favor with Muslims in the North African region. Muslims who do not know Jesus Christ are entrapped by Satan’s deception. For that matter, anyone who does not know Christ as their savior is misled by Satan’s deception. In addition, I would help save non- Muslims and encourage believers in the love of the Lord as well. Kahina would also use her telepathic powers to advance believers who battle with deceit from the enemy. I would convey the truth through mind to mind communication. I would remind the believer that when you accept God’s Son; Jesus Christ, you are now called a saint and a child of the Most High God. With that comes a new identity (Colossians1:13-14). Then, I would remind them the authority they have in Christ Jesus (Colossians 2:9-10). Children of God are called to fight the great commission, which is spreading the good news of Christ. If I had telepathic powers this is how I would serve The Kingdom of God.

Aliens, God and Me:)

I do not believe there is life on other planets because one, there is no recognition in the bible that states there is life outside of earth. I consider the term “life” to be a human being that has a soul. Organisms I do take into consideration, and I believe they can be found on other planets, but I do not consider them as life. The bible known as the book of life; accounts historical events, prophecies of the future, fulfillment of those prophecies, and instruction on how to live as Jesus lived. One very important detail God tells us about is his judgment. The Old Testament talks about God judging people in the world. God does not mention his judgment coming to the beings from another planet, and God does not speak of life outside of earth. There are many different people groups accounted for all throughout the bible, but “Mars” people so to speak, has not been recorded. Believing in aliens takes a lot of faith. The bible declares that the only person you are to have faith in is God, his son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

Another reason I don’t believe there is life on other planets is because of unsubstantial evidence. In terms of science evidence is the foundation of a belief. From my research, I have not found any valid facts to convince me there is life outside of earth. This is one website I looked at; http://library.thinkquest.org/21008/data/alien/life.htm had a title “Blast off into Space” and it talked about intelligent radio waves that might have possibly come from an intelligent being in outer space. The core support of the information presented on this site was a ticking sound a radio wave. I will need to see life from other planets in order to believe it. Until there is scientific evidence that proves “intelligent” beings exists, I can only claim that organisms exist outside the earth’s orbit and “life” does not.

Lastly, my troubling thought is this: God has given us advanced technology that has enabled us to create satellites, send astronauts into outer space, orbit around mars, and over the years there has not been any convincing data of life outside earth. There has been reports of Unknown Flying Objects (UFOs), but can you honestly call what you could not see and identify in the sky, and name it as Alien? There are airplanes, birds of all shapes and sizes, and military aircraft that can all be misread as UFO’s. The word alien has a proper use and definition: someone who is born or belongs to another country that has not required citizenship by naturalization. Another use of alien is someone that is estranged or excluded. Where did our vision of black eyes, big head, and green skin figure come from? America has made up figures and holidays that have no truth or validity such as: the Easter, the Easter bunny, Santa, reindeers that fly, the tooth fairy, and Halloween. I believe UFO’s fall into the same category as listed above. Thank goodness we don’t have a holiday centered on a green, square headed, funny eyed man!

Purpose

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived." --Henry David Thoreau

The word deliberately means to consider carefully, intentional. Another word for deliberate is purpose. Henry David Thoreau in the above quote simply meant, he wants to consider his life carefully, live it intentionally so that his life serves a purpose. Ultimately, I believe he wants to live on purpose for his Creator. There is nothing in this world to live intentional for other than the God of this universe. Having the desire to live intentionally brings me to the conclusion that he has the fear of God in his heart. The end of his quote also brings me to the next conclusion; when he sees his day of judgment, he wants his account of his life to be well pleasing to the Lord, and desires to hear “well done my good and faithful servant.”
This may be debatable to some people, but fearing God is all I know in my heart is to why someone desires to live intentional and with purpose. Ever sense 2007 when I became a new believer, my world view changed. When I think of the word intentional I think of Jesus Christ and his intentional love he showed us on the cross. I also think about, how God loves us so much he intentionally sent his Son for our sins. He did that all so that we could have a relationship with God. The question comes to mind -how can I be intentional for God and show the same love? The answer I have is faith in his Son Jesus Christ. When I hear the word purpose, I know the only purpose I have is to serve the Kingdom of God. The question “what should I do with my life” is really unanswerable and heavy; until you can realize that you were made for God and that your purpose is for God. From my life experience, when you reach this point, is when you can answer that question and start living deliberately.
Do I live deliberately? The bible commands us to live with purpose. It would be a lie if I told yes, every day I do live intentionally. My spirit battles my flesh day to day. I go to bed praying that tomorrow I would see what the Lord’s will is for me for that day. Sometimes I completely live in my own destructive ways. So my answer, I try to live out the purpose God gave me which is to obey and love the Lord. The only way I know how to stay in obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ, and to be pleasing to God is by reading the bible consistently, and praying continually. It helps me to write my prayers down; this shows me how I lived with purpose in the past. Also, writing my prayers allows me to remember the past and how the Lord has worked in my life. I commit myself to the strive of living deliberately. So when my day of judgment comes, I will hear the sweet words of my King “well done my good and faithful servant, well done my precious daughter, I am pleased!”
